A police officer from the Lagos state command has disclosed plans to arrest anyone who stops at the Lekki tollgate during the #EndSARS procession in honour of the fallen heroes who were killed at the tollgate last two years.

Naija News gathered that the police officer who pleaded anonymity was reported to have said “as long as they do not stop, we shouldn’t have a problem, because the agreement is that they don’t stop.

“But the moment anybody stops that person will be picked up and locked up in the van,” the Punch reported.

#EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate

This development comes after Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz announced a memorial procession to mark the second anniversary of the #EndSARS through a flyer on his Instagram page yesterday.

The flyer said the procession cars would pass through the toll gate, waving the Nigerian flags while chanting #EndSARS.

However, the police have vowed to uphold a court order that ruled that no person should converge at the Lekki tollgate for whatever reason.

Available reports disclosed that there is a heavy police presence at both sides of the tollgate with about 25 police cars and one black maria on the ground.

Today makes exactly two years after the deadly #EndSARS protest against police brutality and disbandment of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria police and bad governance.
