President Tinubu's Ministers Won't Go Beyond 15% In Performance – Atiku's Aide

The spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, Daniel Bwala has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu over his recent statement relating climate change issues to holy communion.

Bwala on Tuesday while featuring on the Arise Tv Morning Show, knocked Tinubu’s submission, describing it as out of order and something many Nigerians can’t relate with.

Naija News recalls the APC candidate on Monday in Kaduna State while responding to a question on climate change at the Arewa Interactive Session, described climate change as “a question of how do you prevent a church rat from eating poisoned holy communion”.

He said the West needs to put its money where its mouth is if it wants some nations to key into its climate change agenda.

“We are a poor nation. They say firewood is not for fetching. They say we need to plant more trees and they are not giving us money.

“We need to tell the West, if you don’t guarantee our finances and work with us to stop this, we are not going to comply with your climate change,” Tinubu argued.

However, the reference to holy communion has caused stirs and reactions from various quarters as it is seen by some as insensitive to the Christian religion.

Adding his voice, Bwala said the comment by Tinubu is offensive. He added that the former Lagos State Governor should have used something the average Nigerian would be able to understand and relate with.

He said: “He was totally out of context on the church rat comment. It was offensive. It would have been better for him to give a metaphor that resonated with the people.

“But in terms of contextual interpretation…the international conference on climate change is looking at a balance.

“The one point-something emission limit that you are talking about is insofar as it relates to advanced countries.

“So you cannot join that with what Asiwaju said. It’s completely totally out of order.”
