Nigerians React As Popular Yoruba Monarch Clears Bushes With Cutlass In His Community

Popular Yoruba traditional monarch, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has sparked mixed reactions online after he engaged in ‘unexpected’ activity in his community.

Naija News reports that the Olowu of Iwoland took to his Instagram page to share a video of himself clearing the bushes with a cutlass.

The monarch said his action was based on his love for his community, bringing the people together and spreading love.

He captioned the video: “Love Your Own with passion. Its not about king/Oluwo cutting grass….its about community love to the city ! Paramount ruler of Iwoland Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi Telu1, President Iwo Board of Trustees Professor lai Olurode and others doing community work this morning, please don’t ask us why we did not use lawn mowers or laborers…this is bringing our Iwo people together spreading love”

Reacting, some Nigerians applauded the monarch, while others urged him not to jeopardize the Yoruba culture.
