Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Why Tinubu Will Not Drop Shettima - Adeyeye

A public affairs commentator, Muhammed-Bello Buhari has backed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 Presidential election.

Naija News had reported that the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, announced former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday in Daura, Katsina State.

The decision by the ruling party to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential race has generated varied reactions, with many Nigerians slamming the APC and Tinubu.

However, in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Buhari said the APC Presidential candidate can be trusted with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“If there’s anyone that can be trusted with a Muslim-Muslim ticket today is Tinubu,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has denied endorsing Tinubu for the 2023 election.

A statement issued on Monday by the spokesman of his campaign organisation, Muyi Fatosa describes the claim that Kwankwaso recommended Tinubu for president as false.

Fatosa said Kwankwaso is still fully in the presidential race and not distracted by the misleading reports.

According to Fatosa, Kwankwaso has not in any way endorsed Tinubu and urged the public to always verify the authenticity of whatever they see in the media.

“Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has not in any way endorsed Bola Tinubu and urged the public to always verify the authenticity of whatever they see on the media.

“Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is still the candidate to beat in the 2023 presidential election,” he said.
