A terrorist who escaped from the Kuje correctional centre (Kuje prison) last week Tuesday has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the Federal Capital Territory.

Recall that terrorists last Tuesday attacked the prison, releasing members of the Boko Haram, Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP), and other inmates.

Suleiman Sidi who escaped from prison during the attack was arrested in the early hours of Monday in Abuja.

Sidi’s arrest is coming after Federal Government published the names and pictures of 64 terrorists, declaring them wanted.

The development was confirmed in a statement released by the spokesperson of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi.

According to Babafemi, Sidi was apprehended by operatives of NDLEA at the Area 1 motor park while attempting to board a commercial vehicle to Maiduguri, Borno State.

Wraps of cannabis Sativa were seen on him upon search by operatives of the agency.

Sidi during a preliminary interview revealed that he was detained at the Medium Security Correctional Centre in Kuje.

The terror suspect is facing charges bordering on terrorism and robbery.

The Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd) has directed his transfer to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
