A 25-year-old man, Saminu Muntari has reportedly stabbed his brother to death at Kaura village in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

An eyewitness, Sunusi Nasiru told Daily Post that the suspect visited his brother in his home and stabbed him on the right side of the chest with a knife.

He stated further that while he was trying to apprehend the suspect he also got stabbed on his left hand with the same knife.

The source explained that the victim died on the spot while the suspect fled the scene.

Police Spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirming the incident, told the publication that security operatives on 16/04/2022 at about 1500hrs received the report from the District Head of Kwalam, that, on the same date at about 1330hrs a 31-year-old man Murtala Alhassan and his 25-year-old brother, Saminu Muntari of Kaura village had a misunderstanding over firewood.

The incident occurred after the suspect went to the victim’s farmland to get firewood without his consent.

The suspect later visited his brother’s home at about 1400hrs and carried out the dire act.

He said police immediately visited the scene after receiving the report and the victim was taken to Ringim General where he was confirmed dead.

The Police spokesman said the suspect was arrested and an investigation is currently in progress.
