Some captured Russian soldiers have revealed their plan to rise up against their President, Vladimir Putin when they return back to their country.

The soldiers expressed shame over their actions in Ukraine to CNN, stating that they would be judged.

“We all will be judged. I want to tell our commander-in-chief to stop terror acts in Ukraine because when we come back, we’ll rise against him.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin “has given orders to commit crimes. It’s not just to demilitarize Ukraine or defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but now cities of peaceful civilians are being destroyed

“The crimes that we committed, we all will be judged.”

Ukraine president, Volodymyr Zelensky has said that 600 Russian soldiers have been captured in Ukraine and nearly a dozen of them appeared in news conferences held by the Ukrainian authorities.

However their actions towards the captured soldiers might be questioned under the Geneva Conventions. The conventions go against states unnecessarily humiliating prisoners of war.

Meanwhile, Zelensky has stated that his country will not be joining NATO, which was one of the demands made by Russia before it invaded.

According to a translation of his comments made via video link at a meeting of the leaders of the U.K. Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) in London on Tuesday morning, March 15, Zelensky stated that they would not be joint NATO.
