Buhari Travels To Yobe State After Campaigning In Adamawa State

President Muhammadu Buhari has cut short his planned trip and returned to Abuja after the United Nations event in Kenya.

This was made known in a short Twitter statement on Friday afternoon by the President’s personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

This is contrary to the earlier statement released on President Buhari’s itinerary as Nigerians had earlier been told the country’s leader will fly out to the United Kingdom for a medical check-up after the Kenya event.

However, an update by Ahmad on Twitter says: President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja, after his participation in the 50th Anniversary of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya.”

The presidential aide however didn’t give any further detail about the President’s movement and change in plans.

Naija News recalls presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina had earlier said the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari would be attending the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations Environmental Programme, scheduled for 3rd – 4th March 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya, and after the meeting in Kenya will travel to London, the United Kingdom for a medical check-up which will last for two weeks.

“From Kenya, President Buhari will proceed to London for routine medical checks that will last for a maximum of two weeks,” Adesina had said on Tuesday, March 1.
