Christians In Nigeria Must Speak In One Voice - Oyedepo

The founder of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has noted that some people who once castigated him for preaching prosperity are now doing the same.

Naija News reports that the clergyman while addressing a congregation at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State on the theme “Blood of Sprinkling Service” on Sunday, said he was once seen and called a devil preaching prosperity.

Oyedepo said some of his critics have also wished him dead for doing the right thing. The clergyman stressed that Nigerians were angry that he was preaching prosperity instead of suffering.

According to the preacher, a God-ordained leader sees things ahead of others.

“I was a devil teaching prosperity, people were grieved, they wished I died. Now, everybody including the major attackers are now writing on prosperity. True leaders see ahead of others, every God-ordained leader is a pacesetter,” Oyedepo noted.

The renowned clergyman recalled how suffering was once seen as a blessing in Nigeria.

Naija News understands that Bishop Oyedepo is known as one of the richest pastors in Africa and around the world today.

Meanwhile, Nigerian blogger, Noble Igwe, on Sunday condemned society for not questioning people’s source of wealth.

According to Igwe, the decision of people not to question the source of wealth of people has aided money ritual.

This is coming after three teenagers between ages 17 and 19 admitted to killing and burning the head of a girl for a money ritual.

Igwe while reacting to the development, stated that the source of wealth especially on social media is not questioned these days.

He wrote on his Twitter account, “Every day, we are on different pages of people we know that can’t afford certain things shouting “ God when” then come here to act surprised that people are doing evil to ‘belong. Our society does not question the source of anything.

“In most clubs, it is only bottle services. They don’t sell cocktails or beer, and when people other expensive drinks, music is shut down to deliver drink(s) to one person or a group. People will kill or commit a crime to get such treatment.

“People will post three skits in a year and then post a house they just bought, people will appear in two movies then post “new me, new house”. The thing is, we celebrate all types of questionable wealth.

“The church will take a donation from anyone with money, the village will crown anyone with money, no questions asked. Families don’t ask their children how they make their money, and some do not care. It’s the society that feeds this monster.”
