Death Toll Rises To 14 As IGP Visits Scene Of Ikoyi Building Collapse

A video of gospel minister, Yinka Alaseyori, holding a prayer session with the owner of the 21-storey building, Femi Osibona which collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos has surfaced on social media.

Naija News reports that a 21- storey building located along Gerald Road, under construction collapsed on Monday, leaving many persons dead in the incident and several others trapped.

In the video shared via the micro blogging platform, Twitter, captured moments the owner of the 21-storey building, Femi Osibona was pictured with Yinka Alaseyori and others holding a prayer session on the roof top of the building.

The owner, Femi Osibona, could be seen in white attire dancing ecstatically while gospel singer, Yinka Alaseyori led in praises and worship.

According to Gbenro Adegbola on Twitter, the video was taken a few days before the building collapsed.

Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has suspended Gbolahan Oki, the general manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) following the collapse of a 21-storey building which claimed the lives of at least 14 people and left many others injured.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, nine men were also rescued alive and have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The commissioner added that more equipment and personnel have been deployed to the site for the rescue mission.
