Falz, Tacha, Others Storm Lagos Streets, Joins June 12 Protesters

Nigerian celebrities, Falz, Tiwa Savage, Tacha has joined other protesters in Lagos to mark the June 12 Democracy Day.

Naija News understands that there’s been an ongoing protest around the country, as protesters storm the streets of major cities to protest against bad governance, insecurity, and the Muhammadu Buhari administration on democracy day.

In the video shared on social media, celebrities such as Tiwa Savage, Tacha, Falz were captured amongst protesters protesting against bad governance, insecurity, high inflation and against the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Outrage As Photo Of Policeman Shooting Teargas At Harmless Protesters Emerges

A photo of a policeman shooting teargas at June 12 protesters in Abuja has surfaced on social media.

Naija News understands that there’s been an ongoing protest around the country, as protesters storm the streets of major cities to protest against bad governance, insecurity, and the Muhammadu Buhari administration on democracy day.

In the viral photo shared by Channels TV, a police officer was captured shooting teargas at harmless June 12th protesters in Abuja.

Nigerians on social media have reacted to the sensational photo, expressing outrage as they slammed the police force for shooting at harmless protesters.

Makinde Joins June 12 Protesters In Ibadan [Video]

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state joined other protesters in Ibadan, the state capital to mark the June 12 Democracy Day.

Naija News reports that Makinde shocked protesters when he drove himself to the venue with little security to address them.

Clad in a brown attire, governor Makinde emerged amidst cheers and loud praises.

The protesters are protesting against bad governance, insecurity, and the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Comedian Mr Macaroni Storms Lagos Street, Joins Protesters

Popular Nigerian comedian, Debo Adebayo, also known as Mr Macaroni, has joined protesters at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in the Ojota area, the venue of the June 12 protest in Lagos State.

The protesters who were earlier been dispersed by security operatives reconverged in front of a motor park approved by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation with placards, chanting “Buhari must go” and demanding good governance and end to insecurity in the country.

Addressing journalists, Mr Macaroni queried why the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who contested presidential elections at least four times before he got to power, is the same person causing pains to Nigerians.

June 12: Police Fire Tear Gas At Protesters In Lagos, Arrest Several

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have fired teargas at peaceful June 12 protesters gathered at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota on Saturday.

The peaceful protesters were protesting against bad governance and insecurity when the police officers attacked them with tear-gassed and gunshots.

It was gathered that the protesters quickly took to their heels as the fierce-looking officers advanced shooting canisters of tear gas at them.

The police officers, however, arrested some protesters at the venue of the June 12 Democracy Day protest.

June 12 Protesters Storm Osun, Ondo [Photos]

Some protesters have converged at the popular Oke-Fai roundabout in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State as the country marked Democracy Day on June 12.

The June 12 protest organised by the Coalition of Civil Society and other civic groups is also taking in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Naija News reports that the youths are protesting against bad governance, insecurity, and economic downturn across the nation.

The protest witnessed quite a big turnout as several people are seen carrying placards and banners with various inscriptions.

Security Operatives Take Over Lagos Protest Ground

Security operatives on Saturday surrounded the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, where Nigerian youths had planned to stage the June 12 protest.

It was gathered that three Hilux Vehicles and two armored tanks were spotted at the scene.

A further report had it that security operatives hindered three people from accessing the park.

At the scene of the protest was an armored tank and five Hilux Vehicles patrolled the area.

The Lagos State Police Command had earlier stated it is unaware of any planned protests by any group/groups on June 12 Democracy Day.
