Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 1,444 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday evening, 17th January 2021, confirmed 1,444 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 110,387 which includes 89,317 discharged cases and 1,435 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Plateau State.

Meanwhile, the National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) has released conditions that 2020 Batch “B” Stream II prospective corps members must meet before they are admitted into Orientation Camp.

Naija News reports that the NYSC listed the conditions in its “Safety protocols” issued ahead of the commencement of the 2020 Batch “B” Stream II Orientation Course on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

The NYSC directed prospective corps members to submit a clearance certificate showing a negative COVID-19 test.
