Terrorists, Bandits Are Now On The Run - Magashi

The Minister of Defence, Bashir Salihi-Magashi, has said security agents know the whereabouts and movements of the abductors of the students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.

Salihi-Magashi stated this while leading a federal government delegation to meet with Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina, on Sunday.

Recall that unknown gunmen on Friday night had attacked the government school and abducted over 300 students.

Speaking during the visit, Salihi-Magashi said it was an easy task for the Nigerian army and police to recover the missing students.

According to the Minister, “We have strategies and I believe we can do it without any collateral damage to the people of Katsina State.“We have the intelligence, the information, their whereabouts, their movements and their methods of operations. The task is easy for the armed forces and the police.

“The only thing is that we need prayers from you so that there will be no collateral damage in the event of being hostile. We assure you that all hands are on deck.”

He stated that security agencies were working hard to ensure their release, adding that the student will be rescued soon.

“So far, we have been briefed by the Police Commissioner, GOC, Brigade Commander, Air Commander, DSS, and other security officers,” he said.

“Our interest is to keep ourselves abreast with what actually happened two days ago and we believe with their briefings, this task is going to be simple for us.”
