Governors of the 36 states of the federation have promised to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure residents of each state benefit from the COVID-19 palliatives.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State gave the assurance after the 14th teleconference meeting of the forum.

He assured that each state will work with its COVID-19 Task Force to ensure the palliatives get to all needed places.

Fayemi also disclosed that the Governors received a briefing fromĀ Aliko Dangote on behalf of the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) and the body promised to share N23billion worth of palliative targeting 10 million Nigerians.

According to the communique issued at the end of the meeting, the flag-off of the palliative sharing started on August 4 in Borno, Edo, Enugu and Kano States.

Fayemi added that the launch would hold daily across one state each in the six geopolitical zones until August 11, when it would be concluded in all 36 states.

The Governors also resolved to meet with the heads of the security agencies in the country to discuss and review the security challenges Nigeria after which their resolutions will be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.
