PHOTO NEWS: Wike Hosts Obaseki Amid Defection Rumours

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state on Sunday met with Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, at the government house in Port Harcourt.

Details of the meeting is yet unknown, as it was held behind closed doors, but it seems like the beginning of the political rebranding regarding the hope of Obaseki ahead of the Edo Guber.

Naija News reports that Obaseki was on Friday disqualified from seeking re-election by the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had on Saturday asked Obaseki to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for his reelection bid.

Atiku also spoke with governors who are members of the PDP to make way for Obaseki to get the party’s ticket.
