Obaseki disqualified from APC governorship primary election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting the party governorship primary in Edo State.

Obaseki was disqualified by the APC screening committee for the Edo governorship primary.

Jonathan Ayuba, chairman of the screening committee, confirmed this while presenting his report to Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman, at the national secretariat in Abuja.

Naija News understands Obaseki was disqualified by the screening committee on the grounds that his HSC and NYSC certificates are defective.

Just before he was eventually disqualified, Obaseki, had predicted that there were plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole to disqualify him from the June 22 primary election.

This he made known in a statement released today through his media aide, Crusoe Osagie.

He condemned the “extreme display of lawlessness and dictatorship by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole“.

At the screening process, which held in Abuja on Friday, Osagie Ize Iyamu who bore the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 election but has now decamped to the APC, was cleared alongside four other candidates.
