Despite the rise in figures of Coronavirus cases in Senegal, the government, under the leadership of President Macky Sall has declared opened all religious worship centres.
Naija News understands that Sally announced the reopening of worship centres for both Christians and Muslims.
This online news platform is aware that Senegal at the moment has a total of 1,886 confirmed cases of COVID-19 disease with nineteen already confirmed dead.
However, President Sally has decided to relax restrictions of movement previously imposed on the citizens as a means of combating the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The Senegal President during a nationwide broadcast on Monday, May 11 said; “In the best of cases, COVID-19 will continue to circulate in the country until the month of August, or even September.
“In this new phase that will last not a few weeks but three or four months, we need to learn to live in the presence of the virus.”
Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said a few weeks ago that African countries including Nigeria need at least $114bn to fight Coronavirus pandemic.
