Breaking News: Osinbajo’s Convoy Involved In Accident, Escort Rider Killed

The convoy of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, was on Friday involved in an accident while on the way to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The spokesperson of the vice president, Laolu Akande also confirmed the incident to our correspondent. Naija News understands that one of the outriders in the convoy of the Vice President died in the accident.

Osinbajo was on his way to the airport ahead of a flight to Lagos when the incident happened on Friday.

Laolu in the statement said, “With grief in our hearts, we announce the death of one of the police escort riders on the Vice President’s convoy, Inspector Ali Gomina, aged 45, who was involved in a road accident while on official duty today.”

“The accident occurred on the road to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The Vice President, who is greatly saddened by this occurrence, has aborted the scheduled trip.”

“The Vice President described Gomina as a diligent, hardworking and serious-minded officer who will be greatly missed by the team. He is survived by his wife, children, and relatives.”

Recall that the Osinbajo was involved in a chopper crash last year, in Kabba, Kogi State while on his way to a political rally.
