1. Amotekun A Plot To Christianize South-West – Sharia Council

The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria has accused South-west leaders of trying to Christianize the region with the establishment of the South-west Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun.

The group’s Vice President, Sheih Abdurrasheed Hadiyatullah, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

2. PDP Finally Reacts As More Imo Lawmakers Defect To APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told lawmakers in Imo State who recently defected from the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vacate their seats.

The party in an official reaction to the defection on Wednesday said the defectors have automatically lost their seats as representatives of the people.

3. Court Gives Final Judgment On Omo Agege’s Ex-Convict Trial

Justice Othman Musa of Abuja High Court has dismissed a suit filed against Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The suit was filed by the Incorporated Trustees of Patriotic Youth Organisation of Nigeria on the ground that Senator Omo-Agege wasn’t qualified to contest because he was an ex-convict.

4. Gbajabiamila Orders Amendment Of Constitution To Recognize Amotekun

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has ordered the Leader of the House, Hassan Ado Dogwa, to present a bill that will amend the 1999 constitution to recognise the Southwest security outfit, Amotekun and other related security outfits in Nigeria.

Gbajabiamila stated this during his welcome address at the house on Wednesday.

5. Senate Minority Leaders, Abaribe Calls For President Buhari’s Resignation

The Minority leader in the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, on Wednesday, called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senator representing Abia-South Senatorial District of Abia State claimed that the Buhari-led administration and the All Progressives Congress has failed Nigerians.

6. Finally, Allowance Of NYSC Members Increased

The monthly allowance for corps members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been increased to N33,000.

The increase was confirmed by Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) during a working visit to the NYSC secretariat in Bauchi.

7. Kano Lawmakers Approve N15bn Loan Request By Governor Ganduje

A N15bn loan request by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State to the State House of Assembly has been approved by the lawmakers.

The lawmakers gave the approval on Wednesday after the receipt of a report by the House Committee on Local Governments headed by Deputy Majority leader, Alhaji Kabiru Hassan-Dashi on the governor’s request.

8. Edo: Gov. Obaseki Threatens To Expel Adams Oshiomhole

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has threatened that he will expel the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki warned that the former governor of the state if he continues to disrupt activities in the state and the state chapter of the party.

9. Popular Balogun Market In Lagos Gut By Fire

Some buildings in the popular Balogun market in Lagos Island is were gutted by fire on Wednesday, Naija News reports.

It was gathered that the fire started from Anambra Plaza at Martins area of the market.

10. Abaribe Should Be Called To Order Over Statement Against APC, Buhari – Abdullahi

The Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Adamu Abdullahi, has countered the Senate Minority Leader, Eyinnaya Abaribe, over his called for President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.

Abaribe who called on the President and the All Progressives Congress to resign had reminded the party that they asked to be stoned if they fail to perform.
