How Herbal Mixture From An Islamic Cleric Killed Man In Osun

The Osun State police command has confirmed the death of a 27-year old man who died as a result of the concoction he received from an Islamic Cleric.

The report which was given by the state police spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, disclosed that a man identified as Mutiu Adekunle has died after drinking a herbal concoction he was given by a Muslim cleric in Osogbo, Osun state.

Odoro said that the late Adekunle and one of his friends, Olayiwola Opeyemi, had visited an Islamic cleric identified as Alfa Nureni Suleiman, for solutions to their problems, and that he handed to them a herbal mixture to drink.

“Both developed complications after taking the herbal mixture and were rushed to the hospital afterwards. Mutiu later died after efforts made by the doctors to save his life failed, while his friend, Opeyemi is still battling for his life,” Odoro said.

He added that Alfa Nureni has been arrested, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo for autopsy.

In another news, Naija News had reported that a woman identified as Temitope Akinola, in Ogun state reportedly poisoned her granddaughter with an insecticide, Sniper, to stop her daughter’s marriage to her lover.

The 42-year-old man who resides in Isote area of Sagamu was arrested on the same day of the incident by men of Ogun State Police Command.

The spokesperson of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, noted that Akinola was arrested following the information made available to the Sagamu Division of police after the death of the child.
