Joao Felix Wins Golden Boy Award

Atletico Madrid youngster, Joao Felix, has been declared as the winner of the 2019 Golden Boy award for the best under-21 player in Europe.

The Portugal player won the award ahead of Borussia Dortmund winger, Jadon Sancho (second place) and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Kai Havertz (third place), on Wednesday.

Felix scored 18 goals for Benfica last season before joining Atletico Madrid last summer for £113million.

BBC quoted the 20-year-old after winning the award saying: “I am very proud.”

“It is the second time that a player from Atletico Madrid has won this award and I am happy.”
