Arsenal midfield maestro Matteo Guendouzi has made the 20-man shortlist for the 2019 Golden Boy award.

England youngsters, Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount and Phil Foden are among the contenders for the award.

Atletico Madrid and Portugal youngster, Joao Felix is among the favourites for the prize.

Naija News reports that Super Eagles and Villareal winger Samuel Chukwueze failed to make the final 20-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award.

Recall that De Ligt was named the 2018 Golden Boy, by an international panel after beating off stiff competition from Kylian Mbappe and Justin Kluivert.

The Golden Boy prize is an annual award established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport which is handed to the best player in European football under the age of 21 over the previous calendar year.
