The federal government tax-collecting agency in Nigeria (FIRS) has revealed how much the country has generated so far this year.
Naija News understands that the Federal Inland Revenue Service Executive Chairman, Babatunde Fowler made this known during the Lagos International Trade Fair held at Tafawa Balewa Square.
Speaking on the“FIRS Special Day” Fowler revealed that the agency generated N4.012 trillion in three quarters (January-September).
Fowler also said the agency was working assiduously in ensuring that it aligned with all efforts to grow national revenue from taxation while easing the inherent administrative burdens. He, therefore, expressed optimism that the service would meet up with its 2018 revenue target before the end of the year.
Naija News recalls that the FIRS boss, Babatunde Fowler had earlier revealed that the country keeps losing about 15 billion dollars to tax evaders yearly.
