JUST IN: Taraba Assembly Deputy Speaker Impeached

The Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Gwampo has been impeached earlier today.

Naija News learnt Hon Gwampo was impeached after The motion for the impeachment was raised by the former Majority Leader, Hon. Albasu Kunini, of Lau State constituency over alleged lack of competence to discharge his duties.

Following his impeachment, the House elected Hon. Charles Maijankai of Karim Lamido I State constituency as the new Deputy Speaker. Maijankai until his election as the new Deputy Speaker was the Majority Leader of the House.

Meanwhile, in another development, the Bauchi State Election Petition Tribunal has upheld the election of Senator Bala Mohammed as governor.

The tribunal declared that the governor of Bauchi State was duly elected and therefore struck out the case filed by former Governor, Mohammed Abubakar.
