1. President Buhari, Service Chiefs Meet Over Insecurity

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, held a closed-door meeting with the nation’s service chiefs at Aso Rock villa.

2. Atiku vs Buhari: 87-Year Old Prof Nwabueze Is Head Of Atiku’s Legal Team

Renowned constitutional lawyer, Prof Ben Nwabueze made a brief appearance on Thursday before the presidential election petition tribunal where he announced himself as the lead counsel for the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

This is as the tribunal begins proper hearing in Atiku and PDP’s suit challenging the election victory of Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the February 23 presidential election.

3. Northern Youths Attack Osinbajo, Obasanjo, Give Buhari 30-Day Ultimatum To Implement Ruga

A section of Northern Nigeria youths under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Group (CNG), has spoken on the controversial Ruga settlement plans by the federal government.

The group while revealing their position on the issue at the end of its meeting on Wednesday, issued a 30-day ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari, to implement the Ruga policy across the country.

4. High Court Dismisses Suit By Miyetti Allah Seeking To Stop Anti-Open Grazing Law

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has lost the legal battle against the Benue state government over an ambition to stop the 2017 open grazing prohibition and establishment law passed by the state House of Assembly.

Naija News learnt that the federal high court sitting in Abuja dismissed the suit filed by the Miyetti Allah because the plaintiff failed to comply with an earlier order of the court directing them to amend the originating summons.

5. Gbajabiamila Names Doguwa As House Leader, Announce Other APC Principal Officers

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has announced Ado Doguwa (APC-Kano) as Majority Leader of the lower legislative chamber.

Gbajabiamila made the announcement during House plenary on Thursday in Abuja.

6. Kaduna Guber: Gov. El-Rufai Wins In Court

The nomination of Nasiru El-Rufai as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State has been upheld by a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna.

The court in its ruling stated that the Governor of the state was properly nominated as the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election.

7. Atiku vs Buhari: Tribunal Admits 883 Exhibits And Counting From Atiku, PDP

The Presidential Election Tribunal on Thursday has so far admitted 883 exhibits from Niger State from Atiku Abubakar and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party.

Naija News recalls the tribunal opened hearing in the petition filed by the PDP and Atiku challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the February 23 presidential election.

8. Supreme Court Set To Deliver Judgement On Osun Governorship Election

The Supreme Court is set to deliver its final judgement on the 2018 Osun governorship election.

Ahead of the announcement, the Osun State Police Command, on Thursday, told the people and residents of the state to maintain total law and order.

9. Explosion Rocks Ijegun Community In Lagos

An explosion rocked Ijegun community in Lagos state, Nigeria’s commercial city on Thursday morning, July 4.

Two persons have been reported killed and about 30 cars burnt in the early morning fire outbreak in Ijegun, a community in Igando-Ikotun local council development area of Lagos State.

10. PDP Rejects Gbajabiamila’s Choice For Minority Leader

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the attempt by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to allegedly impose minority leader for the party.
