1. INEC Server: Sixty Presidential Candidates Attack PDP, Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has been attacked by about 60 presidential candidates in the 2019 general elections over the controversy surrounding the use of server during the election.

The presidential candidates described the controversy as unnecessary.

2. INEC Has The Powers To De-Register Political Parties – Ekweremadu

The Deputy Senate President in the 8th National Assembly, Ike Ekweremadu, has revealed that the constitution amendments carried out by the previous Assembly have addressed the increase of political parties in Nigeria.

The Senator representing the Enugu-West Constituency stated this in a statement through his media aide, Uche Anichukwu.

The decision of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on the issue of servers for the 2019 general elections has continued to generate reactions.

Naija News recalls the tribunal on Monday, declined the application by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar to inspect INEC smart card readers and the server for the February 23 presidential election.

5. Ogun Election: Gov. Dapo Abiodun Wins In Supreme Court

The appeal filed by Abdulrafiu Baruwa in the suit Appeal No SC/524/2019, challenging the eligibility of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun to contest the governorship election in the state has been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

According to the report, Baruwa had challenged the qualification of the Ogun State governor on the ground of failure to disclose all his academic qualifications.

6. Tribunal Gives Judgement In HDP’s Case Against Buhari’s Victory

The presidential election petitions tribunal resumed sitting on Tuesday as it heard the case by Hope Democratic Party (HDP) challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the February 23rd presidential poll.

HDP also dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) before the tribunal over its decision to postpone the presidential election from February the 16th to February the 23rd without any legal backing.

7. No Election Is Perfect, INEC Chairman Defends 2019 Polls

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has defended the commission’s performance in the conduct of the 2019 general election.

Yakubu added that no election in any part of the world is ever perfect.

8. Senate President, Lawan Speaks On Senators Monthly Salary

Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan has denied every claim that there is the jumbo salary for National Assembly members as some quarters had speculated.

This was made known on Tuesday by Lawan when he was paid a courtesy visit in his office by members of the Senators’ Forum.

9. Afenifere Blasts Osinbajo Over Comment on Insecurity In The Country

Afenifere, the Pan Yoruba Socio-political group, has blasted Nigeria’s Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for saying that the ongoing insecurity in the country particularly kidnapping and banditry were being exaggerated by Nigerians.

Through its leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the group berated Prof. Osinbajo over the comment he made on Sunday while addressing some Nigerians in New York.

10. I Borrowed 7 Billion Naira To Pay May Salaries, Says Gov. Abiodun

Governor Dapo Abiodun has disclosed how much met in the Ogun state treasury when he took over the administration of the state.

Naija News learnt the governor revealed that the amount he met was not sufficient to pay the May salary of civil servants in the state which he puts at over N7billion.
