Afcon 2019: Super Eagles Beat Burundi 1-0

A lone goal from striker Odion Ighalo was enough for the Super Eagles to beat Burundi 1-0 in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON).

Burundi proved they were no pushover with Stoke City striker Saido Berahino proving to be a handful for the Nigeria defence.

The Swallows, a Burundi is called, hit the woodwork and tested the unconvincing Daniel Akpeyi who was favoured ahead of Francis Uzoho.

Afcon 2019: Uganda Stun DR Congo

Uganda beat DR Congo 2-0 in Cairo on Saturday in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) first upset.

The Cranes, as Uganda is fondly called, looked a force to be reckoned with against DR Congo.

The victory marks Uganda’s first victory in the tournament since 1978.

Congo lost the game with goals from Patrick Kaddu and Emmanuel Okwi.

 

Super Eagles Striker Suffers Heart Attack

Super Eagles forward Samuel Kalu on Friday suffered a heart attack ahead of his teams Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) clash against Burundi.

Naija News gathered that the Bordeaux of France attacker collapsed during training and has been transported to a local hospital.
