At least two cars were scrapped on Saturday when a container fell on them around the Tin Can Island port in the Apapa area of Lagos, on Saturday, June 15.

Although it was unclear if there were casualties, Naija News found out that the drivers and passengers in the vehicle when then felt tragedy ran off and abandoned their cars at the scene.

The lights of the cars were seen on, while the tanker landed itself on the cars.

The cause of the incident is also not far from the fact that the roads are dilapidated and need repairs.

While speaking with this online news platform, a resident said that the bad roads have been responsible for several tragedies in the area.

The incident was also fueled by the recent downpour in Lagos that had some of the Lagos roads enriched with potholes and flooded by the downpour; a development that can also be attributed to the poor drainage system in the area.

As at the time of filing this report, spokesman of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adebayo Kehinde, could not be reached for details on the accident.

Apapa had in recent times been known for Heavy-duty vehicles, scattered across the roads due to the location of different ports in the area.
