1. Labour shuns government’s conciliatory meeting over minimum wage
Members of the Organised Labour on Sunday were absent at the reconciliation meeting with the Federal Government over the non-implementation of the N30,000 new National Minimum Wage for the workers in the country.
The Federal Government had called a reconciliatory meeting with the Organised Labour and the Organised Private Sector, scheduled to hold at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
2. IMN releases names of 34 members allegedly killed by army
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has published the names of 34 of its members who had allegedly dead after they were shot by military officers between between October 27 and October 30.
The Movement in a statement alleged that their members were murdered by the military and asked for thorough investigation to be carried out.
3. Stop donating Nigeria’s resources – Atiku slams Buhari
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar has counseled the Buhari administration to be more prudent with national resources.
The Atiku camp in a press statement, accused the Buhari administration of persisting in the financial profligacy that has seen them destroy a once thriving economy.
4. Lagos APC confirms Femi Hamzat as Sanwo-Olu’s running mate
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday officially named Dr Obafemi Hamzat as the running mate of Mr Babajide Sanwoolu, its governorship candidate for the 2019 elections.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Tunde Balogun announced Hamzat’s choice at a news conference in Ikeja.
5. USIP predicts victory for Buhari in 2019
The United States Institute of Peace has predicted victory for President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2019 general election.
The institution said that it prediction on the forthcoming elections was based on the interactions it had with Nigerians from different sectors.
6. FG summons envoy over closure of Nigerian shops in Ghana
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has summoned the High Commissioner of Ghana to Nigeria, Ambassador Rashid Bawa, over the continue closure of over 400 Nigerian shops in Ghana.
Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama on Friday said the Ghanaian envoy was invited to give a definitive explanation on the treatment of Nigerian traders in that country.
7. Okorocha insists his son-in-law remains Imo APC governorship candidate
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu remains the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate for the 2019 governorship election in the state.
He has accused the national chairman of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of deceiving him and the party in the state when he supposedly cancelled the October 1 governorship primary in the state and set up a new one.
8. Government and labour to hold fresh meeting over minimum wage
Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment has said organised labour would attend a meeting with the federal government on the contentious new minimum wage on Monday.
He spoke Sunday night in Abuja after labour leaders failed to show up for the scheduled meeting.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday restated that the Federal Government had achieved a lot in all sectors of human development and democratic process.
Osinbajo spoke at the 2017/2018 Barewa Old Boys Association annual lecture in Sokoto.
10. Fuel crisis looms as NUPENG declares support for NLC strike
The proposed strike action by the Nigerian Labour Congress may affect the flow and distribution of petroleum products across the country.
This is as the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has declared support for the strike sheduled to commence as from 6th November over the new minimum wage.
