Saraki’s Name Included In List Of Candidates Submitted To INEC

The Peoples Democratic Party has presented the name of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to the Independent National Electoral Commission as a senatorial candidate.

Naija News gathered Saraki’s name was submitted as the party’s candidate for the Kwara central senatorial district as part of names in the list of candidates submitted to the electoral umpire on Thursday for the 2019 general elections.

Recall Senator Saraki, contested the presidential ticket of the PDP along with twelve other aspirants but came third in the party’s national convention which was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

There had been insinuations that Saraki might have perfected plans to fall back on the senatorial ticket should he fail in his bid to pick up the PDP’s 2019 presidential ticket.

Investigations reveal that Saraki’s name was used to replace the name of the candidate who was initially filled as the PDP candidate for the senatorial district.

“Bukola Saraki’s name is there (in the list). He’s returning to the Senate on the platform of the PDP,” a source said.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the winner of the PDP kwara central senatorial district was not openly declared when the result was announced about two weeks ago.
