1. Buhari congratulates Nigerians as country celebrates 58th independence anniversary

President Muhammadu Buhari in his independence day address, has pledged to continue to work for the good of Nigeria and Nigerians as a whole.

Buhari declared that the country under his leadership, is on a right track and called for support from all stakeholders.

2. NLC suspends warning strike over minimum wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress has called off its nationwide warning strike as a results of Federal Governments promise to reconvene the tripartite committee on national minimum wage on October

The President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, who made the announcement in Abuja on Sunday, disclosed that the labour action was suspended to enable the tripartite committee to hold its crucial meeting and conclude its work.

3. APC expels Balogun-Fulani led state excos in Kwara

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled the Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani-led Kwara executive from the party for organizing an illegal primary in the state.

This was announced in a statement issued by the APC acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena on Sunday.

4. Ambode says Sanwo-Olu was arrested in the US for spending fake dollars

Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has alleged that a Lagos APC governorship aspirant, Babajide Sanwo-olu was once arrested in the US for spending fake dollars.

Ambode, who spoke at a world press conference on Sunday, also used the opportunity to declare that he won’t bow to pressure.

5. Kwara PDP governorship primaries end in confusion

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Kwara state on Sunday, was cancelled as a result of a clash between supporters of two leading contenders.

An alleged clashed between loyalists of Bolaji Abdullahi and Razak Atunwa, two top aspirants, reportedly led to the cancellation of the exercise with ballot boxes broken and the materials used for the election destroyed.

6. Tinubu insists Ambode cannot return in 2019 as Lagos governor

The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwajo Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accused Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of deviating from the Lagos Master Plan initiated by his predecessors, insisting that he must be replaced.

The National Leader, who insisted that the incumbent has failed to live up to the expectation of the party, stated that Monday’s primary will reposition the state for better performance.

7. APC postpones Lagos governorship primaries again

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has again shifted the date of the Lagos governorship primaries to Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

It also changed the events  for Enugu and Adamawa states for Thursday, October 4, 2018.

8. Aisha Al-Hassan resigns as minister, dumps APC

Aisha Alhassan, has resigned from President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as the Minister of women affairs, and also defected from the All Progressives Congress, to the United Democratic Party.

She said her resignation is due to her disqualification from contesting for governorship in Taraba State.

9. Wike emerges 2019 PDP governorship candidate for Rivers State

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general election in Rivers.

Wike, while making an acceptance speech after emerging victorious at the PDP primary election, thanked the delegates for electing him, promising that he would not disappoint those who placed their confidence in him.

10. Bomb blast rocks APC secretariat in Rivers state

Pandemonium erupted in Rivers States, as an explosive device, suspected to be a dynamite, went off on Sunday near the Rivers State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress.

The deafening explosion had caused panic as many party supporters rushed out to have a glimpse of what happened.
