President Buhari Condoles With Victims Of Gas Explosion At Nasarawa

President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathized with the government and people of Nasarawa State over the tragic gas explosion at a filling station in Lafia, the state capital that claimed many lives.

In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Monday, the President who was briefed about the scale of destruction of life and property, expressed grave concern over the high toll in the incident.

Naija News earlier reported the explosion occurred at a gas filling station close to a petrol station, killing unconfirmed number of persons, with about 50 sustaining various injuries, while vehicles and several shops were also destroyed in the fire.

The president, consoled the bereaved families and appealed to the state and federal authorities and well meaning persons in the state to ensure that the best medical assistance was provided to the injured persons.

“I wish that this kind of tragedy never happened to any part of the country,” he added.
