1. President Buhari return from China

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from China where he attended the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.

Recall Naija News reported that the president departed Nigeria on August 31 alongside nine ministers and four state governors.

2. Clash at PDP headquarters as Atiku Abubakar submits nomination form

There was a stampede yesterday as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, headquarters in Abuja.

A mammoth crowd reportedly, stormed the gate of the building as the Wazirin Adamawa arrived.

3. Police dismiss officers involved in raid of Chief Clark’s house

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has gone beyond the apology he rendered to Chief Edwin Clark for the illegal invasion of his home in Abuja, he has also approved the dismissal of three police Inspectors who carried out the raid.

The police have charged to an Abuja court the informant who gave the police wrong information that led to the raid.

4. FG starts distributing ‘trader moni’ to petty traders

Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has, on Thursday commenced the distribution of start-up capital for 39,000 petty traders in Abuja.

The commercial loan scheme tagged “Trader moni” is an initiative of the Federal government out to empower over two million petty traders across the country.

5. Atiku tackles Buhari over Adeosun’s NYSC certificate scandal

President Muhammadu Buhari’s ” uncompromising” stance has been questioned by Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who asked why Kemi Adeosun, accused of certificate forgery, is still minister of finance.

Abubakar had said that Buhari is a “very uncompromising, power drunk (and) will not be ready to leave power without a fight”.

But Femi Adesina, the president’s spokesman, said his principal is uncompromising in the quest to restore probity and accountability to public office.

6. Workers shut down Radio Kwara over poor working conditions

The Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation, (Radio Kwara), in Ilorin, was on Tuesday, declared shut down by the workers of the station, they were reported to have staged a protest over lack of operational equipment and welfare package for staff.

It was reported that the State Government’s decision to cancel the AM station was part of what triggered the protest.

7. Nigeria defeats Ivory Coast 5-1 in under-17 qualifiers

The Golden Eaglets, Nigeria Under 17 national football team, have gotten back their composure after their opening match defeat with a 5-1 win in their 2nd group game against D’Ivorie on Thursday.

The Nigeria team have kept hopes alive after they suffered defeat a 3-2 defeat to Burkina Faso in their second group game of the ongoing 2018 WAFU Zone B U-17 AFCON qualifiers.
