1. Police summon Saraki again over Offa bank robbery

The Nigerian police has summoned Senate President Bukola Saraki over the armed robbery attack in Offa in kwara state resulting in the death of 31 persons.

The suspected armed robbers involved in the attack had confessed to being sponsored by Dr. Saraki.

2. PDP expels Buruji Kashamu from the party

Senator Buruji Kashamu, representing Ogun East in the National Assembly has been expelled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

The expulsion was announced by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan at the end of an emergency National Executive Committee meeting of the party in Abuja.

3. Fire engulfs Governor Aregbesola’s office

A fire incident reportedly broke out in the Office of the Governor of the state of Osun, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola at the State Secretariat, Osogbo.

The governor was not around when the fire stated, but was devastating because the security doors leading to the office could not be opened as the fire raged.

4. Mama Boko Haram intervenes to secure Leah Sharibu’s release

Mrs Aisha Wakil, popularly known as Mama Boko Haram, has promised to work in partnership with the International Committee of Red Cross to secure the release of Leah Sharibu from Boko Haram captivity.

Leah is the only Christian among the 112 kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents from Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state and was not released as she refused to denounce her faith.

5. I will not condone disrespect within APC, even if Buhari condones it in his office – Oshiomole

Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, on Monday stated that the President Muhammadu Buhari‘s fatherly disposition is been taken advantage of by ministers who are not up and doing in their various ministries.

He threatened to seek Buhari’s decision to sack such ministers from the federal cabinet, stating that if the President allows his office to be disrespected, he will not condone disrespect for the party.

6. Police invitation is an attempt to stop me from leaving APC- Saraki

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has described the invitation extended to him by the Nigeria police over the April 5th Robbery in Offa, Kwara State as another ploy to prevent him and his associates from leaving the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Senate President, who insisted he has nothing to do with the robbery incident or any criminal matter, assured that the new plot against him will fail.

7. Eight killed in Boko Haram suicide bomb attack on mosque in Borno

A suicide attack carried out by a member of the Boko Haram group on a Mosque in Borno State, has been reported to have led to the death of eight people.

Ibrahim Liman, a civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) member, told Nigeria News that the attacked on the mosque located in the Mainari area of Konduga, in the early hours of Monday was carried out with explosives.

8. Buhari didn’t offer me oil well to stay in APC- Saraki

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has denied been offered oil wells, automatic ticket or any other form of inducement by President Muhammadu Buhari in order to remain with the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 general elections in the country.

The refutal is contained in a statement on Sunday by Yusuph Olaniyonu, special adviser on media and publicity to the Senate President.

9. Imo state APC gets new chairman after fresh party congress

Daniel Nwafor, has been elected as the new chairman of Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Monday.

Representatives of Independent National Electoral Commission from Owerri office, monitored the election which took place at the Imo International Convention Centre, Owerri.

10. DSS evicts Giwa from NFF secretariat in Abuja

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have ejected Chris Giwa and other staff who occupied the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

This action took place following threats by FIFA, football governing body to ban Nigeria if the situation was not resolved and Amaju Pinnick not reinstated as NFF president.
