1. President Buhari to visit Ekiti for APC political campaign

President Muhammadu Buhari will be in Ekiti state today for the grand finale rally of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), the Presidency reveals.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Ekiti to close the rally of the APC candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, ahead Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

2. PDP forms alliance with 30 political parties ahead of 2019

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has joined with over 30 political parties and announced a new name called Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).

The announcement was made after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the leaders of the merging parties.

3. Adeosun applied for exemption certificate – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has opened up on the raging saga and questions raised as regards the originality of the exemption certificate put forward by Mrs Kemi Adeosun, the Minister of Finance.

Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, the Director of Press and Public Relations of NYSC, in a short statement, made it clear that the Minister did, in fact, apply for an exemption letter as available records indicate.

She, however, did not disclose if she got the reply to her application letter or if an exception letter was sent to her from the scheme.

4. Again, President Buhari claims politicians are responsible for herdsmen killings

The Presidency has revealed that it has evidence that some politicians are involved in the killings of innocent citizens who died as a result of the crisis between herdsmen and farmers in the country.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, who revealed in a statement said there is evidence of involvement of some politicians using criminals to perpetuate the killings.

5. PDP wants FG to publish names of those involved in $322m Abacha loot

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Buhari and the Federal Government to make public, the names of all persons allegedly involved in siphoning repatriated 322 million dollars looted by late Gen. Sani Abacha.

The party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, who made this known in a statement released in Abuja, accused some officials of the administration of siphoning the recovered loot.

6. Obasanjo attends PDP rally

Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, caused a stir on Monday when he stopped over at the a rally by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, throwing the supporters into jubilation.

The event was held at the premises of the Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

7. Buhari doesn’t deserve a second term – Arewa Youth Forum

Ahead of the 2019 election, the leadership of the Arewa Youth Forum, has stated on Monday that President Muhammadu Buhari does not deserve any endorsement for the presidency election.

While reacting to the alleged endorsement by some of the serving lawmakers in the All Progressives Congress from the Northwest in Kaduna, the youth forum national President, Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, stated that the President is not fit to return as President.

8. FRCN workers stage protest over unpaid salaries and obsolete equipment

Staff at the headquarters of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Abuja, as well as their their colleagues in the Kaduna station, on Monday staged a protest against non payment of their allowances and Insurance levy.

All of them wearing black clothes, the workers decried poor treatment of the corporation and its staff by the federal government.

9. Soldiers kill 15 Boko Haram fighters in Borno state

Soldiers on counter-insurgency operations in the North East have killed 15 members of the Boko Haram terrorists group in Borno State, and recovered weapons from them.

The soldiers from 7 Brigade, Sector 3 of the Multinational Joint Task Force were said to have encountered the terrorists at Arege village while on security patrol of the area.

10. NYSC opens portal for 2018 Batch B prospective corp members

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has revealed guidelines for prospective corp members to enable them register for the 2018 Batch ‘B’ mobilization exercise.

The information, signed by the management of the corps, indicated that the NYSC portal would open on Tuesday, 10th July and close on Monday, 16th July, 2018.
