A traditional ruler,Sunday Olisewokwu has been kidnapped by suspected herdsmen from his Ogodor kingdom in Aniocha north local government area of Delta state.

A security source who pleaded anonymity disclosed this to newsmen, stating that the incidence happened on Sunday.

The herdsmen ambushed the traditional ruler around Ezi and Onicha-Olona communities on Sunday evening and injured some of his aides who tried to foil the abduction,” the source said.

Olisewokwu is the chairman of traditional rulers in Aniocha.

One of the traditional rulers in the town said they incidence sparked tension among residents as some of them sustained injuries in the incident.

He noted that none of the family members or even council chiefs have been contacted by any of the kidnappers.

When contacted, Andrew Aniamaka, spokesman of the police in the state, said he needed time to provide details.

The state government is yet to react to the incident.
