1. Court orders separate trial for Nnamdi Kanu

An Abuja Federal High Court, Tuesday afternoon ordered that the missing leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, be separately tried from the rest of his co-defendants.

Kanu and others are being prosecuted on five counts bordering on treasonable felony, among other charges.

2. 94 students yet to be accounted for after suspected Boko Haram attack in Yobe

Ninety four students are still missing following attack by suspected Boko haram members on Government Girls Secondary School Dapchi, in Yobe state on Monday.

It is however yet to be ascertained if the missing students were kidnapped by the suspected Boko Haram attackers.

3. Nigerian Army launches “operation cat race” in Benue.

The Nigerian Army has commenced Operation Cat Race Exercise in Benue state to put an end to the perennial clash between herdsmen and farmers in the state.

The army began the exercise yesterday.

4. Dana airplane overshoots runway in Port Harcourt

A Dana Airline plane flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt airport overshot runway, skidding into the bush yesterday, Tuesday.

According to a statement on its Facebook page, the accident was as a result of bad weather and torrential rain at the time of landing.

5. Factional APC headquarters in Kaduna demolished

A building housing a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state has been demolished by the state government.

The building located at 11b Sambo Road belongs to the APC faction headed by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi.

6. INEC lacks capacity to conduct credible elections – Wike

The Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has slammed the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct credible polls in the country, citing the example of the Kano local government polls.

Wike said this on Tuesday when he hosted the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Bernhard Shlagheck at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

Special assistant to president Muhammadu Buhari has denied rumours that Yusuf Buhari, son of President Buhari is dead.

She described the rumour as totally false, saying Yusuf is alive and doing well.

8. Senate launches investigation into comments on election re-ordering

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday ordered its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, to launch an investigation into comments attributed to Delta Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege and nine others.

Omo-Agege and nine senators had told the press that the re-ordering of the election sequence was done to target President Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

9. PDP deputy chairman set to decamp to APC

Suspended deputy chairman of the Niger state chapter of PDP, Alhaji Aminu Yussuf is said to be making moves to decamp to the ruling APC.

Yussuf was suspended by the PDP over allegations of misconduct and anti-party activities. The decision was taken at an emergency state working committee meeting in Minna on Tuesday.
