Ex-Ivorian football international star, Emmanuel Eboue, has reportedly been battling with suicidal thoughts since the court judgement which forced him to forfeit all his properties to his now former wife, Aurelie.

Eboue, whose playing career took him to clubs such as English top flight team, Arsenal as well as Turkish giants, Galatasaray is said to be suffering from long term depression and other undisclosed ailments.

The 34-year old ex-Arsenal defender’s riches to rags story, has sometimes seen him sleep on the floor of a friend’s home, travel by bus and even clean his clothes by hand because he has no washing machine.

This has often left him with suicidal thoughts according to UK Mirror.

His efforts to over turn a court ruling which denied him all his hard earned fortune following a bitter divorce from his wife, has so far failed to yield the desired result.

After their divorce, the court awarded all his fortunes to his wife in a divorce settlement and he was ordered to also give up his house in London to the ex-wife.

The house has now been put up for sale by Aurelie, Eboue’s former wife.

Eboue had also surrendered his expensive cars to his wife, having to rely on London public transport.

As reported by Naija News, the loss of his brother N’Dri Serge and grandfather earlier in the year, coupled with a one year ban from all football activities handed to him by FIFA for failing to pay money owed a former agent coupled with his current legal battles, all to a large extent fuel rumours of suicidal attempts by the former footballer.

Eboue earned several millions of pounds at Arsenal and Galatasaray, drove choice cars and lived in posh houses. However, the football star said he had lost all he had to his wife Aurelie who he claimed also handled his finances, adding that “whatever she told him to sign he signed.

His planned return to football also failed to materialize due to medical complications which forced a breakdown in negotiations between the 34-year-old and Cypriot side Turk Ocagi Limassol.
