Police dispersing Shiites members with tear gas
The police on Monday dispersed scores of Shiites in Abuja, protesting for the release of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.
Naija News gathered that the police dispersed the protesters with teargas as they attempted to enter the National Assemby.
The Shittes, an Islamic Movement in Nigeria, have been calling for the release of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, detained since 2015.
The policemen supported by the Civil Defence, fired tear gas at the protesters causing panic and pandemonium.
It was learnt that the demonstrators run for safety.
However, the number of those arrested could not be ascertained immediately.
Naija News had reported that at least two Shiites were reportedly killed in Kaduna on Sunday during a protest to seek for the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
