1. 6 feared dead in Borno suicide bomb attack

Up to six persons have been allegedly killed following a suicide bomber who blew himself up on Thursday at a crowded market in Borno State, wounding several others as well.

The attack occurred in Amarwa village, about 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

2. Aisha Buhari placed on bed rest over Yusuf’s bike accident

President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha has been placed in bed rest at Cedacrest Hospital in the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This is due to anxieties over the health condition of injured Yusuf Buhari who was involved in a bike accident in Abuja.

3. Jonathan should apologize to Nigerians – Fayemi

Minister of mines and steel development, Kayode Fayemi, has asked former president Goodluck Jonathan to apologize to Nigerians for the 6 years he administered the country.

He said PDP can only dream of returning in 2019 but Nigerians are wiser.

4. FRSC warns motorists against carrying fuel in jerry cans

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has stated it is an offence for motorists to carry petrol in jerry cans while on long journeys.

It also urged drivers to always have accessories such as fire extinguishers, C-caution, wheel spanner, jack and spare tyres in case of an emergency.

5. Saraki orders Kachikwu, Baru to appear before Senate over fuel scarcity

Senate President Bukola Saraki, on Thursday, directed the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) to suspend its recess and immediately organise a meeting with relevant stakeholders to discuss the way forward on the ongoing fuel crisis in the country.

Minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu as well as the NNPC boss, Maikanti Baru are both expected to appear before the committee.

6. Police in Ogun arrest man for killing his own baby

A man, identified as Andrew Koku has been arrested by the Ogun state police command for allegedly killing his 6 month old child.

The arrested suspect according to police sources confessed to the crime claiming he suspected his wife of planning to leave him for another man.

7. 257 more Nigerians return from Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) has welcomed another batch of 257 Nigerians from Libya.

The returnees who arrived Lagos on Thursday, include 152 female adults, 82 male adults, 9 children and 14 infants.

8. 30 billion concert: Davido regrets not getting a bigger venue

Nigeria music star, Davido has lamented not getting a bigger venue for his recently concluded 30 billion concert.

The concert venue was already filled to capacity long before the concert even started.

9. Miss Botswana emerges new Miss Africa 2017

21 year old Botswana beauty queen, Gaseangwe Balopi, won the 2017 Miss Africa beauty pageant which held Cross River, Nigeria.

She goes home with $35,000 and a sports utility vehicle as her prize.

10. Wenger wins 810th premier league game in charge of Arsenal

Arsene Wenger marked his 810th premier league game as Arsenal manager with a 3-2 win over Crystal palace.

The game moves him level with former Manchester United manager, Sir. Alex Ferguson.
