FIFA Sanctions Nigeria, Awards Super Eagles World Cup Match To Algeria

World football ruling body, FIFA, has rejected Nigeria’s defence on the use of an ineligible player during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Constantine on Friday, 10th November 2017, thus awarding the match to Algeria.

However, the sanction does not in any way hurt Nigeria’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, as the Super Eagles had picked the ticket from Group B ahead of the clash in Constantine.

APC running false, broken government, says Secondus

Uche Secondus, the newly elected national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for running a broken and false government.

He said this yesterday, Monday, at the handing over ceremony by the National Caretaker Committee, (NCC) to the new National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja

Electricity: We Are Expecting Additional 1,129 Mw In 2018 – Fashola

The Federal Government had on Monday announced that additional 1,129 Mega Watts could be generated by 2018.

This was revealed by the Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who said after the completion of some power generation projects by 2018, they could generate to an additional 1,129 Mega Watts to the already existing 7,000 Mega Watts in the nation.

Herdsmen Attack: Osinbajo Holds talks with Sanusi, Others

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has met with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, elder statesman, Mallam Ahmed Joda and other heads of Fulani communities behind closed doors on Monday.

In a statement by the VP’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the meeting was a continuation of the December 5, 2017 visit made by Osinbajo to Adamawa, over the clashes in the state.

The Nigerian Army has fixed Tuesday, Dec. 19, for the Passing Out Parade (POP) of Regular Recruits Intake of the Depot NA, Zaria.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Capt. Haruna Mohammed-Sani, said this  in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Monday.

Appeal Court To Deliver Judgment On Saraki’s Acquittal Today

The Court of Appeal in Abuja is today, Monday, to give judgment on the appeal filed by the Federal Government to contest the acquittal of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The Court of Appeal had on Monday issued hearing notices and served same on parties to the appeal.
