Military is winning war against Boko Haram – Lai Mohammed

Minister of information and culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed, has commended the leadership of the country’s military for their commitment and dedication to the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists.

Quoting figures from the recent global endorsement of its fight against terrorism, as contained in the 2017 Global Terrorism Index of the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the minister said the figures were confirmation that Boko Haram would soon be totally crushed.

Residents killed, others killed as hoodlums attack communities in Zamfara

Zamfara State Police, on Sunday has revealed the death of residents in the state by hoodlums.

The Police Command stated that the hoodlums recently began another round of attacks on some communities in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Police, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammad Shehum, said the details of the attacks are still hazy.

Anambra Election: Ohanaeze congratulates Obiano on his victory

The President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, a socio cultural organisation of Igbos, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has congratulated Governor Willie Obiano for his victory in the just concluded Anambra governorship election.

Nwodo, in an interview with NAN in Enugu on Sunday also congratulated Obiano’s opponents for a healthy competition, urging Obiano to extend hand of fellowship with his opponents and forget about campaign rhetoric.

2019 Election: Buhari should go home and rest, says Sen. Dogowa

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano State, Senator Mas’ud El-Jibrin Dogowa says President Muhammadu Buhari should not re-contest in 2019, rather he should “go home and rest”.

Speaking with Sun, Dogowa, who represented Kano North Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly said the country is currently facing many hardship which Buhari has been unable to tackle as a result of his health.

The federal government social intervention scheme, N-Power, has released further guidelines for candidates willing to participate in the scheme.

Recall the administrators of the scheme, earlier announced to candidates who registered in 2017 that they would be able to check their status by 11:30 pm today, Monday, 20th November, 2017.

Anti-Open grazing law: Fulani Herdsmen reject ranching

Fulani herdsmen under the aegis of Miyetti-Allah Kautal Hore, have insisted that they will not accept the anti-open grazing law established by the state governments, saying history revealed that ranching was not practicable in Nigeria.

The herdsmen, who made this disclosure to newsmen in Abuja through their socio-cultural association, called on the Federal Government to stop state governments from implementing the anti-open grazing law, especially in Benue and Taraba States.

Ekiti State Governor,  Ayodele Fayose has debunked reports of him planning to decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the weekend, an ex-Chief Whip of the Senate and chieftain of the APC in the state, Gbenga Aluko, alleged that Governor Fayose was making plans to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
