Alleged kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, a.k.a Evans has filed an application requesting to be released on bail.

Evans’ application was filed during the resumed hearing of trial on conspiracy and kidnapping at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, today, Friday.

The suspected kidnapping kingpin also requested that his case to be given an hastened hearing.

However, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Titilayo Shitta-Bay, countered Evans bail application.

Shitta-Bay informed the court seeking the application for accelerated hearing filed alongside an application seeking to quash the charges are conflicting, confusing and most emphatically an abuse of court processes.

Naija News recalls that Evans had earlier changed his plea to ‘not guilty’ when he was re-arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

The court hearing is still ongoing.
