Kolo Police Station located in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was reported to have been attacked by armed men on Tuesday morning.
The attack left a policeman dead and some injured, began at a check point close to the station.
An eyewitness disclosed toChannels TV that the unfortunate incident was ochestrated by suspected oil thieves.
The gruesome occurrence, follows attacks carried out in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state where a local boat owner was kidnapped.
Reports indicate that the gunmen had attacked and kidnapped a boat owner along Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state.

The Bayelsa State police have confirmed the incident, ordering the the reinforcement of security personnel in the area.
The attack on the police officers on duty was claimed to be for the purpose of stealing arms and ammunition.
The state Police command has assured the public that details from the Police Public Relations unit will be released soon.
