1.  PDP convention: South West meets over consensus candidate

The South West region of the Peoples Democratic Party are in talks to produce a consensus candidate from the region for the party’s national chairmanship position.

Bode George and Gbenga Daniel disclosed this after their meeting yesterday.

2. PENGASSAN threatens strike as fuel crisis persists

Fresh crisis looms as PENGASSAN issues a seven-day ultimatum to the federal government to address injustice and lawlessness in the oil and gas sector companies or face a nationwide strike from December 18.

The information was released by Lumumba Okugbawa, General Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.

3. 2019: Nigerians will decide who becomes President- Atiku

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has warned President Buhari not to be deceived by the crowd that welcomed him in Kano.

Spokesperson for the former vice president declared that all Nigerians will have a say in determining who emerges president in 2019.

4. Kidnappers demand N100m ransom for kidnapped PDP chairman, Damishi Sango

The abductors of Plateau State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Damishi Sango, have demanded a ransom of N100 million for his release.

The former sports minister, his son and others in their entourage, were abducted by unknown gunmen on their way to Abuja for the PDP national convention.

5. NJC rejects Justice Adeniyi Ademola’s voluntary retirement

The NJC has turned down the voluntary retirement of Justice Adeniyi Ademola, citing he had earlier been recommended for sack.

The High court judge, who was one of the eight judges whose houses were raided by the Department of State Services (DSS) for alleged corrupt practices and money laundering.

6. Welder commits suicide, jumps out of 3-storey court building

A 41-year old welder, Wasiu Olowonle has killed himself by jumping from the third floor of the Court where he was standing trial for allegedly stealing an iron rod valued at N40,000.

The sad event occurred at the Ogba Magistrate Court in  Lagos with the accused loosing his life  immediately.

7. Boko Haram threatens attack on Abuja, six other cities

The Inspector General of Police has directed Commissioners of Police, Assistant Inspectors General of Police and personnel in the states to be on red-alert alert.

This follows threats of attack by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

8. APC members in Kano endorse President Buhari for second term

The Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress have adopted president Buhari as their sole candidate for the 2019 presidential election.

This was announced on Thirsday as the president concluded his two-day working visit to the state.

9. Ronaldo wins 5th Ballon d’Or award

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi went head-to-head once more for the Ballon d’Or, but it was the Portuguese emerged winner ahead of the Argentine and Brazil’s Neymar Jr. as revealed at a glitzy awards ceremony held in Paris, the France capital on Thursday.

It’s Ronaldo’s second successive golden ball after claiming the 2016 edition again at the expense of his rival Messi who finished in second place last year.

10. Europa league group stage games reach beautiful conclusion.

Arsenal hammer 6 goals past BATE in the final group stage of the Europa league.

The various teams that secured qualification will now await draws for the next phase of the tournament.
