Vic Mensa Stands By His Statement Against Late Rapper XXXTentacion At The BET Hip-Hop Awards

Vic Mensa attacked XXXTentacion at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, describing him as a glorified abuser. The claim took place while the X’s, Cleopatra Bernard, was seated in the crowd.

The video stirred reactions as many people called out Mensa for disrespecting the late rapper’s mother. Some claimed that it was bad to see a grieving mum watch her son get abused.

However, Vic has not backed down from his criticism of X, who was accused of domestic and sexual abuse before the time of his death.

He acknowledged that he never intended to disrespect Cleopatra Bernard, who had attended the ceremony to accept X’s award for Best New Artist.

According to him, his video was recorded prior to the award show.

“I vehemently reject the trend in hip-hop of championing abusers, and I will not hold my tongue about it,” said Vic in his Instagram post. “I don’t give a fuck about getting attention. I care about bringing awareness, and holding people accountable for their actions.”
