Serial Liar, Fabricating Victimhood – Presidency Fires Peter Obi Over Claims Against Tinubu Govt

The Presidency has dismissed claims by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that he is being targeted by the Federal Government.

In a statement on Wednesday night, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Obi’s allegations as false, misleading and designed to attract public sympathy.

He said Obi’s recent claim of being targeted after an incident involving his vehicle at the airport was unfounded, adding that the matter appeared to have arisen from a breach of parking regulations.

In the statement, Onanuga accused Obi of dragging the government into personal inconveniences and making baseless allegations.

He also dismissed Peter Obi’s claim that he might not be alive before the January 2027 election and that people were being pressured not to invite him to social events.

According to the Presidency, the claims were fabricated and intended to divert attention from issues affecting his political platform, the NDC.

Tinubu’s spokesperson also rejected suggestions that the government was targeting Fidelity Bank because of Obi’s alleged interest in the institution.

He said the bank was benefiting from the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms and was not under any form of government attack.

Onanuga maintained that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remained focused on consolidating its reforms for the benefit of Nigerians.

It added that the government had no interest in being distracted by Obi’s allegations or political activities.
