If Gbajabiamila Is Not Suspended Next Week, We Will Pressure Tinubu To Remove Him – NDC Chieftain

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Eze Chikamnayo, has called for the immediate suspension of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, over allegations linking him to the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Chikamnayo gave the Presidency a seven-day deadline to suspend the Chief of Staff.

Naija News reports that he said the party would begin further lawful political actions aimed at mounting pressure on President Tinubu to remove him from office if no action is taken.

The call comes as questions continue to surround claims that an agency said to be non-existent allegedly operated from office space inside the Federal Secretariat and was able to access public funds through government financial channels before the matter became public.

Chikamnayo argued that it would have been difficult for such an organisation to move through different stages of government administration, including the budget process and official banking systems, without the involvement or knowledge of top government officials.

He also said the controversy is attracting attention from Nigeria’s foreign partners and investors, warning that the development could affect the country’s image and reduce confidence in its public institutions if it is not properly addressed.

He said: “If Gbajabiamila is not suspended within the next seven days, we will pursue further actions aimed at pressuring the president to remove him from office. It is impossible for a non-existent agency to pass through the Federal Budget Office, secure office accommodation within the Federal Secretariat, and gain access to government banking systems without high-level complicity.

“Nigeria’s foreign partners and international investors are watching this situation closely, and the country risks damaging its credibility if this matter is not properly addressed. Other cabinet members have been removed or asked to step aside over far less serious allegations. The same standard should apply in this case. If the Presidency fails to act within the deadline, our party will proceed with broad, lawful political actions to ensure accountability.”
