‘Media Should Not Become Amplifier For Those Who Wish To Harm Us’ – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has cautioned the media against undermining the country with irresponsible reporting.
Naija News reports that Tinubu made this known on Thursday during the first State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tinubu appealed to the media not to be used as megaphones for bandits and terrorists because it will affect the citizens, especially at a time when the nation is tackling security threats, neutralising thousands of criminal elements, and rescuing hostages.
He said, “The media must resist the temptation of becoming megaphones for terrorists and kidnappers.
“We must not undermine our country with irresponsible reporting. If we do, we will have no safe space left, especially at a time when our nation is tackling security threats, neutralizing thousands of criminal elements, and rescuing hostages.
“The media should not become an amplifier for those who wish to harm us.
“The government must act, the media must watch, the government must explain, and the media must question.”
In other news, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has described President Tinubu as a miracle worker.
He asserted that no president in Nigeria has commissioned as many projects as President Bola Tinubu within three years in office.
The Senate President stated this on Thursday during the commissioning of the Old Keffi Road from Kado Fish Market to Deidei to mark Tinubu’s third year in office.
Representing Tinubu at the commissioning, Akpabio said: “I’m here to represent the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, the performing president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu. I have not seen any president in Nigeria, on his anniversary, 1st, 2nd, 3rd commissioned the number of projects that this president has commissioned across the country.”
