It Feels Like A Dream – Grace Bassey Announces Engagement

Former Nollywood actress and United States Navy officer, Grace-Charis Bassey Effah, has announced that she is engaged.

Naija News reports that the actress, who was formerly known as Belinda Effah, shared the news on her Facebook page on Tuesday with photos of herself and her fiancé.

While she did not reveal the identity of the man she is set to marry, the pictures showed her wearing an engagement ring as she celebrated the occasion.

Grace expressed joy over the new stage in her life and described finding love as a dream come true.

However, she did not disclose when or where the proposal took place or provide further details about her fiancé.

She wrote: “Answered prayers. It feels like a dream, but when true love finds you, you melt.”

The engagement comes more than a year after she left the Nigerian movie industry to begin a military career in the United States.

In 2025, Grace drew public attention after completing the United States Navy boot camp. She also became a US citizen after taking the oath of allegiance.

Grace dedicated the achievement to her late father, Asido Bassey Effah, a retired naval commander, saying his memory inspired her journey.

Before leaving Nollywood, Grace explained that acting no longer gave her the satisfaction she once found in the profession.

She said serving in the US Navy had always been one of her lifelong goals because she attended the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt and was raised in a military family.
